Things to do with Preschoolers in Limerick

Here are some suggestions of things to do with Pre-Schoolers in Limerick. If you have some suggestions, I would love to hear from you!

Visit one of the many great Libraries! The majority of libraries host weekly story time and/or a parent and toddler group.  The junior section of the Library is a great way to spend an hour or two reading and choosing books, also your pre-schooler can join the library and choose their own books to borrow. Check out your local library to see upcoming events and news.

Go swimming! Many of the swimming pools have dedicated times for Parent and toddler swims and/or specific swimming areas for smaller children.

Sign up for a class. There are Football, fitness and excerise with Fitkids, music, art or play classes with Kindergym and some of the dance classes  take kids from 4 years, its never to early to pick up a hobby!

The Hunt Museum run Parent and Child Art craft courses

Visit one of the play centres in Limerick, with dedicated soft play areas for pre schoolers, this is a great way to spend a couple of hours and burn off some energy!

Visit the playground! There has been some new playground build in Limerick have been in recent years and the majority of them now have dedicated sections for smaller children.

Join a local Parent and Toddler Group. There are many local groups throughout Limerick that meet weekly.  Parent and Toddler groups are a great way of young children to mix with children their own age and for parents to  meet other local parents!

Check out the Theatres. From time to time they have plays on for children which would suit preschooler as well.

The Cinema is always good for a rainy day and cheaper tickets at the weekend clubs.

If you have a free day mid week a big advantage with getting out and about with preschoolers is that you can visit places at “off peak” times when older children are at school and popular places aren’t as busy!

Leisureplex - Children’s bowling is available where the buffers are added to the lanes so they cant help but knock down some pins!! Great fun!

We also have some ideas for entertaining preschoolers at home.
